In October our ICT Teacher, Karima Maghraby, held the school’s first ever Halloween design competition!
Pupils were set the challenge of creating one of three different styles of graphical products to be in with a chance to win some chocolate Halloween goodies:
- a poster inviting people to a Halloween night party
- an illustrated fact sheet for Halloween/Bonfire night
- an illustrated fact sheet of a world festival (equivalent to our Halloween), e.g. Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos.
Pupils made a fantastic effort and even packed into the ICT lunchtime sessions to complete their work in time for the judging. Pupils from most forms in both the Lower and Upper school entered and there was definitely a competitive buzz in the air.
The competition was judged by Julie O’Brien (Stakeholder Support Leader/Student Support) and Karima and the winners were:
Key Stage 4
1st place – Nathaniel
2nd place – Robbie
3rd place – George K
Key Stage 3
1st place – Nathan E
2nd place – Arron I
3rd place – Jensen
Watch out for ICT’s next competition in December, with a chance to win a large selection box, plus an array of other festive treats.
