The Lower School cohort had a brilliant and informative Fire Safety assembly on Wednesday 2nd May.
Julie Brogan from Leicestershire Fire Safety Education came and delivered an assembly to the whole of Lower School. She informed them about what they should do in the event of fire, where fire alarms should be situated (and how often they should check them), as well as the hazards of hoax 999 calls.
The pupils listened attentively and answered questions when asked.
When it came to practising how to crawl out of a smoky building and ‘stop, drop and roll’ the boys took part enthusiastically and completed the exercises quickly.
Julie even gave them homework to learn their addresses off by heart and make an escape plan for their homes in the unlikely event of a fire, which they were discussing for days afterwards.
