The Grange tackles first aid!

As a part of their careers and preparation for next steps, all Key Stage 4 pupils were invited to attend a St John’s Ambulance First Aid course. The aim of the course was to promote confidence in difficult situations and provide pupils with basic First Aid skills. The pupils participated in a variety of modules:

  • Primary response
  • The recovery position
  • CPR – babies, children and adults
  • Choking
  • Bleeding

The pupils behaved extremely well and learnt a variety of new skills and left the course with the basic knowledge and understanding of what to do in an emergency!

Pupils enjoyed performing the various techniques and all received a Certificate of Achievement to place in their Personal Academic Profiles. The school is actively encouraging more of these opportunities in order to ease transition and provide pupils with a variety of skills essential for everyday life.  Well done boys!
