Kieron Chapman, Care Worker and Fishing Instructor at The Grange, is in the early stages of planning a Guinness World Record attempt – called Cast Everest – with his son. The pair have chosen to raise money for the Cancer Research and MacMillan charities to help them deal with a close family member’s illness and to help “give something back”.
Kieron and Bradley will attempt to reach 8848 metres in as few casts, with a carp rod, as possible.
They are waiting for the confirmation to come back for the Guinness World Record registration and then it will be full steam ahead with booking a venue, a referee and seeking sponsorship.
If anyone has any contacts to help Kieron and his son with their record breaking attempt please contact the school – and watch this space!
